About
Hi Reader!
I am a 4th year tertiary student studying towards a Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree which I should attain at the end of this year. I am creating this blog for a number of reasons in the medium/long term but right now it is my vehicle for responding to an assessment task for the ‘Professional Relationships’ unit of my course. My response is contained within the ‘chapter’ of my blog beginning with the page ‘Investigating ICT as a tool for learning’.

Robyn,
This is just wonderful! It has inspired me to exlore this area of learning myself. Like you, I am facinated by the ICT aspect of teaching, and realise that it requires self-directed learning. I very much enjoyed your audit, reading and roadmap pages. Congratulations.
You are an amazing and inspiring woman
Continue the good work

Robyn,
Your blog is fabulous! Incredibly comprehensive. I always love reading your stuff. Thank you so very much for sharing your journey.
One of the most inspiring sessions that I was fortunate enough to see at the recent ICTEV conference was about creating a Global Classroom. Apparently a catch cry at the moment but the session was incredible. The teacher presenting had begun a blog, initially herself to learn about the technology, just as you have, and then to incorporate it into her classroom.
This has seen her and her class take a whirlwind journey around the world. The class has been communicating and working collaboratively with classes in Canada (aparently they are very up on the latest), Palestine, Indonesia and several schools in America to name but a few. She stated that sometimes the journey was perhaps a little unplanned and not linear but that the learning was most often student directed.
She indicated that much of what she has tackled has been with the support of other teachers who have done similar activities in their own classrooms and that she now has teaching ‘friends’ in all corners of the world.
She, like I, believed blogging to be a very engaging and powerful tool for her class.
Perhaps one of the most important things to remember is, that like our students, we are on a learning journey. That’s the challenge that brought me here!
